Karen Tromp GAICD, CA
Deputy-Chairperson
My childhood home was in a small farming community in the Lockyer Valley and later on a cattle grazing property in the Northern Tablelands NSW. I chose to attend the University of New England in Armidale and graduated with a Bachelor of Financial Administration, which led me to qualify as a Chartered Accountant as my professional career. During my 26 years working in private practice in the New England, I worked with a majority of primary production clients and professionals who, like me, chose to make regional NSW their home.
I joined my first board in 2011 and developed my governance skills through Board participation, completing a Diploma of Governance in 2021 and graduating from the Australian Institute of Company Directors in 2022.
Living and working in the New England I understand the issues facing regional Australians and this drives me to continue our mission of Strong and Sustainable Rural Communities. It is an honour and privilege to have lead this organisation as Chair of our Board and now Deputy Chair.
