Sam grew up in the central west of NSW in a mixed farming area and spent his early working years getting his hands dirty working in shearing sheds, as a lamb marking contractor, a station hand and at various sale yards. More agricultural experience was gained through owning a Macadamia farm which he sold in 2000.
After starting his professional career in foreign exchange with Westpac Bank, Sam moved on to study at UNE where he obtained a Degree in Financial Administration. Further qualifications include a Diploma of Financial Planning from Deakin University and accreditation as a Certified Financial Planner for over 20 years.
Life and career experience has given him a strong understanding of rural and financial issues.
Outside of work Sam enjoys travel and clay target shooting.
