Karen grew up in the Lockyer Valley , Queensland, surrounded by citrus orchards. Later we moved to a beef cattle property near Tenterfield which my brother still runs. As an accountant in Armidale for 26 years, my client base was predominantly primary producers with small, medium and large scale businesses giving me great insight into the challenges and lifestyles across the New England and North West regions. I worked with them as they faced drought, bushfires, wild dogs, an ever changing landscape of government legislation and technology.

Now retired from practice, I serve my community through volunteering on boards for community organisations who are committed to improving local communities, using the skills and experience gained through my professional career in a governance capacity.

Qualifications:
Currently studying Diploma of Governance TAFE Gippsland; Chartered Accountants Program; Graduate Certificate Management; Bachelor Financial Administration.
